This is called a safety collar because if the collar is attached loosely, the ring allows the dog to roll it off the neck if he is caught on brush while in the field. The ring is opposite the buckle for ease in fastening the leash and to serve as the safety feature.
Fitting Instructions: Tory collars have increments of 2", and five holes in each collar. For a proper fit (at approximately the middle hole), measure the dog's neck, and add 2". For example, if the dog's neck measures 14", order a 16" collar.
